RTS GPP
15min kaakspieren trainen met praten
10min pull-ups 32 in totaal
10min abz chair? 70 herhalingen.
The purpose of the Starr Reintroduction protocol is to aid a lifter in reintroducing to full scale
workloads following an injury that has been healed. This protocol has been adapted from Bill
Starr’s original protocol (credit to Mark Rippetoe for the original protocol)
Before you train
Before you begin this process, it’s important to note that this is about reintroduction, not
rehab. This helps you return to function quickly, but is not intended to diagnose or treat injuries
or other problems.
That means you need to be pain free before starting this protocol. Your day-to-day life
should be free from pain and you can do bodyweight movements pain free as well.
Re-starting your training
This protocol is founded on the idea of getting the formerly-injured tissue to work a lot of reps
through the pain free ROM. So you’ll want to train the affected area daily if possible. Start
with the bar and do 3 sets of 25 reps. Take note of how you feel during the set. If it feels
progressively better as the set goes on, that is a good sign. If it feels worse, then that is a sign
that the area is not ready for this and requires lighter loads / more rest.
Progression
Each time you train, gradually increase the weight. It may be by only 10-20 pounds per set,
especially at first, but avoiding re-injury is the priority. If you feel pain or a weird sensation as if
the tissue may be at risk, then stop and go backward a few steps. Otherwise increase the
weight as long as you’re tolerating it well.
Once the weight is too heavy for 25 reps, then reduce to 15 reps, then to 10, then to 5. After
you progress to a moderately heavy set of 5 reps, then you can be confident in returning to
normal training.
Other Important Points
It’s important to use perfect form. No favoring of the injured side. It’s also important to start
very light. Don’t do other heavy work for the affected area during this time.

Squats IPV 2 sec paused
3x25x30kg
