Bud Jeffries zei:When I squated 1,000lbs, what I was doing was staying with the quarter squats five days a week in the 1,000, to 1,100lb range. Doing it every day (a warm up set of 10, three to four singles jumping up to that range and cutting it off there). Staying with one position for at least a couple of days in a row until it felt light amd moved easily. Then I added a small amount to the range of motion. About a half inch. Start over, add more, etc. As I got lower I was maintaining the strength to move that 1,000lbs easily and the confidence as well. I didn't put a belt on until I absolutely had to. As I got lower when I got past the 1/2 squat range, you make a major jump in the percentage of your max lift you're using even though you're staying with the same weight.
