If you are the outdoors type who would rather go on grand adventures into the wild, hike up a mountain, or go white water rafting than being cooped up inside the house all day long then you would understand just how great having the best coolers that money can buy could be. Hydration is important, yes, but when you’re parched and the drinks you brought along with you are cooled, well, there’s no other sensation like it.

But nowadays it is not just about cool drinks anymore. With the huge capacity and cooling performance of many of the coolers on the market, they can comfortably bring along fresh food ingredients with you into the wild with zero problems. That’s why having a cooler is essential if you plan to go on an excursion for several days.

You don’t even need to be outdoorsy to appreciate top rated coolers! A backyard party with nicely cooled beer or soda is guaranteed to be better than having lukewarm beverages to drink. A picnic with well-preserved raw ingredients waiting to be prepared is definitely better than pre-packaged food, also!

Interested? Here are our best ice cooler reviews of some best rated coolers for you to choose from.

Igloo MaxCold Cooler

Let’s start first with something that’s both affordable and reliable: The Igloo MaxCold Cooler. It doesn’t look as cool as the newer and more expensive coolers out there like those from Yeti, Cabela’s, or Orca. The MaxCold also loses out when it comes to features in comparison to these brands. They all give you all sorts of fancy features like a built-in bottle opener, separated dry bin or rotomolded case to boost durability. The MaxCold only provides the bare basics for you like a drainage spout to drain out all of the thawed ice water, a sturdy latch of the lid, and the carrying handles. That’s it.

But this cheap cooler quickly catches up to its more expensive competitors by pure performance and convenience. When we tested it with ice, the cooler can maintain internal temperature for roughly 48 hours before letting the ice thaw. That’s very surprising because its performance is on par with a few coolers that are in the $200 - $300 range.

As we said, this is the second strongest point (Next to the price) of the cooler so if what you’re looking for in the best coolers are nothing more than affordability and performance, then the MaxCold is perfect for you.

There’s something else that you need to know, though. While the marketing said that this is a 50-quart cooler, some reports have shown that the internal space is far closer to about 26.5-quart. That’s almost 50 percent less, but that only means that it is one f the best medium sized coolers available.

So to recap, when you think about the money that you would spend in return for the performance you would get, it is definitely some of the best coolers for the money.

Lifetime High Performance Cooler

Performance and price are two things, but another factor that may be on the list of many shoppers is fashionability. Usually, good looking coolers can be fairly expensive because they tend to be rotomoulded to get a symmetrical and high-quality look. Another thing is that in order to drive down costs, budget coolers don’t have a lot of color options available, either.

If a good look is one of the things that you want to have, try the Lifetime High- Performance Cooler. It is definitely one of the best looking coolers on the market right now.

In a side-by-side performance test with the MaxCold, the Lifetime High Performance Cooler came out more or less on equal standing. Both of them can maintain a respectable internal temperature for up to 48 hours at a time.

Yeti Tundra 45 Cooler

If you want the best cooler that you can get for the money, the Yeti Tundra 45 is a big contender for the title. Having walls that are 2.45-inch thick, you can bet that its insulation capability is excellent. We have tested it with about 2 pounds of ice to see how well it fares, and surprisingly, the Tundra 45 can keep the internal temperature down low with a whopping 20 degrees. While most of the coolers that we tested can only maintain a cool internal temperature for about 24 to 30 hours the Tundra is still quite a few degrees below room temperature even after 48 hours. As I said, that’s not a feat that a lot of ice chests can claim.
The Tundra 45 is one of the top rated camping coolers not just for its ability to keep the internal temperature for a mighty long time, it is also bear resistant. You can throw it around, kick it, drop it, sit on it and I guarantee you that the cooler won’t even have a scratch on its paint job. So taking into account the toughness and it's surprisingly good performance, the Tundra 45 has definitely differentiated itself from the rest of the competitors. Although it is expensive, the money is well worth it since it is no doubt among one of the best coolers on the market.
Yeti Tundra Haul

The Tundra Haul is the ‘nuclear option’ in the top rated coolers for camping category. It is massive, heavy, and has performance that is better than any others on the market.

At 55.1-quart, it is extremely spacious and can keep all of the rations that an entire expedition crew may need in the wild for several days. It is back breakingly heavy, though, weighing in at 37 pounds. This is the reason why the cooler is equipped with a set of wheels and a heavy aluminum arm for you to tug it along since there’s no way that you’re going to be able to carry it. Actually, we have tested it and when we filled it up with several six-packs of beer it took two of us at the editorial to even lift it.

Needless to say, it is extremely tough and can withstand just about everything that nature can throw at it. We’ve tried kicking, dropping, and stomping but the cooler wasn’t even fazed by our harsh treatment.

The performance is exceptional. We placed ice inside, put it in the yard in direct sunlight for an entire week. The ice finally melted on the sixth day of our little experiment.

The only downside of this cooler, of course, is that it is very expensive. But for everything that it offers, though, we’ve decided to give it a pass on having such a high price tag.

LifeProof Backpack Cooler

So you’re a fan of short-duration hiking, camping or family picnics and in a top rated coolers for camping to keep up with you?

The LifeProof Backpack Cooler is the ultimate solution to all your cooling needs, especially if you’re always on the move.

Since full-sized coolers like the Tundra 45 tend to be pretty heavy and bulky, it is not logical at all to bring them along if you expect yourself to only spend a short amount of time outdoors. The compact size and the lightness of the LifeProof Backpack Cooler (about 17 inches tall and 11 inches wide) makes it easy to lug it around no matter where you go. And since it is designed like a backpack, the LifeProof Backpack Cooler is even more mobile.

It has enough volume to fit a six-pack and maybe all of the ingredients that a family of four may need for dinner.

Though it doesn’t provide a lot of storage capacity, LifeProof makes up for it with a variety of useful features. You have a pouch for a water bottle, a separate zippered compartment that acts like any other backpack where you can put your phone and smaller trinkets. To either side and on top are carrying handles if you want to free up your back for an actual backpack, instead. There’s also a bottle opener attached to the shoulder strap.

For mobility and convenience that you get, though, aside from the limited storage space, the insulation isn’t all that good. When we tested the backpack with a few pounds of ice, all of them melted by the 10th hour. So keep this time mark in mind when you go outdoors with this cooler strapped to your back: If you don’t expect yourself to be home 10 hours later, you might need to bring along a bigger cooler.

But overall, this is one of the few good small coolers that we can recommend in spite of size and capacity.

With all of that said, we hope that you have found a new cooler in our short buying guide. If that’s the case then we’re glad to be of help to you!

Iemand enig idee of testogel je kan helpen met spieropbouw bij bodybuilding?
Wat is de werking van testogel precies en of het een anabolen werking heeft.
Maar misschien niet verstandig als vrouw...
