im really excited and look forward to it!

my only concern is, i am currently dieting strict for a competition,
and i was wondering if any of you could give me some infromartion on y'alls nutrition !

my questions are :
1)oatmeal-> what is it called in dutch? is it the same as quaker oatmeal we have in the states? http://quakeroatmeal.com/qo_ourProducts/quakerOats/product.cfm?productid=3

2)do you guys have 1% milfat cottage cheese?

3) do you have grilled chicken? that you can prepare in microwave?
or even gril yourself such as this-> http://www.thedailyplate.com/nutrition-calories/food/purdue/short-cuts-grilled-chicken-italian-style

4) what are some restaurant i can go to that serve healthy?
i hear u have chinese , suriname cusine what are the healthy dishes?

5) is it ok to ask the waiter to grill the chicken and to steam vegetables? or is that somehting that would be frowned upon in dutch culture?

6) do you guys have protein bars/shakes/meal replacements in your local grocery stores?

thanks for all your help

3. don't know about that one, but we certainly have chicken breast and such

4. a lot of the common restaurants serve healthy foods.

5. it's ok to do so.

6. no, but we do at several webshops such as www.xxlnutrition.nl or at specialised bodybuilding shops in the larger cities.

Almost every large city here has a store called "de Tuinen". You can buy your bars, protein, etc here.
http://www.detuinen.nl/nl/TU/content/winkels/output.html

We have lots of grass:D

Die peist dat ie een 3de wereld land bezoekt.

2) try "magere Franse kwark" ... you'll love it, it doesn't taste like white vomit like the cottage cheese does..

3) learn to prepare your food yourself the proper way (bake, broil, grill, fry, steam and boil ... allthough smoked chicken is quite nice as well) . Don't you yanks know that the microwave is evil yet ?

5) You're a foreigner, you're supposed to do strange stuff :)

6) not in local grocery stores, but they're available in health stores. Allthough you're better off ordering them through the web.

Just go to the supermarket, and say:"wie moet ik hier ppen om geholpen te worden", and they will help you.

Hmm, I think in amsterdam we got some shops here that serve

Space chicken (yumm yumm)
Space oatmeal (very yummy)
space milfat cottage cheese (very delicious)

Just as soon as you arive ask directions for the nearest "smart shop"

I think you will enjoy your stay in Holland :)
