Arnold Classic is coming to Europe and Spain in the fall for the first time!
The show will be held at 7th-8th October. More information to come.
Also, in true tradition to the show are also the Strongman and Weightlifting events.
The inclusion of a show as big as the Arnold Classic, is sure to attract competitors that would only have competed in the Mr. Olympia just one week prior which means we could have 'two' Mr. Olympia shows in the one year, with the same competitors and just one week apart!
The 'Euro Arnold' can work for those that placed well in the Mr. Olympia and for those that didn't. For those that placed well in the Mr. Olympia, this would be a great opportunity to keep the winnings and earnings going while still in the shape that placed them so well. We could see competitors go into a 'rebattle' against a competitor that may have placed higher than another should they choose to do the show. Such an easy payday if they can hold their conditioning.
It can also work for the guys who didn't place so well at the Mr. Olympia also. If a competitor didn't place so well because he or she made a small error in contest preparation, they have a chance to redeem themselves a week later at the Arnold Classic Europe. Further more, they need not wait for the next year to qualify for the Olympia. They have that chance to do this only one week later.
Prize money is yet to be confirmed, but rumours are that first place is a heavy $100,000.
If the history and the overall name of the Arnold Classic is anything to go by, I would take a strong bet that the prize money rumoured would just about be on the...money!
