Paulo Almeida - He's got a ton of size in his from and side shots, good quads, freaky arms, chest could be a tad thicker but those arms and delts make his most muscular pretty spectacular! Could use a little more lat mass but again, his rear double bicep is just nuts because of his shoulders and arms. Conditioning is where he's falling behind. There's a ton of potential here to do very well, he just needs to dial it in!
Eddie Bracamontes - Eddie is working with a really big frame but with where he's at muscularity wise, he can't really afford to be flat at all and he's appearing that way here today. I saw him up close when he turned pro at nationals last year and it was nuts, he needs to bring THAT fullness and conditioning. He's posing to the Last Of The Mohicans theme which is about as cool as it gets and he's a very good poser. Good shots with nice and slow flowing transitions. Tons and tons of potential here with Eddie but for now, he doesn't have room to be off at shows like this.
Brandon Curry - I gotta tell ya, Brandon looks really good here, the best I've seen him in a while. As stated before, he still could be a little tighter be with this level of conditioning along with his muscularity and structure, he's very impressive! Legs have come up to the point where they're not a weakness and there's no longer any imbalance. Hams are getting dialed in, amazing V taper. Very impressed!
Timmy Gaillard - Timmy brought his best package ever to the masters pro show in Pitt last year and I was hoping he had kinda figured things out. Show after show this guy just impresses with his structure and lines, but just doesn't bring the conditioning. He could be doing so well at these shows if he was dialed in.
Sasan Heirati - comes out to I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. LOVE this song! This guy has all the potential to do very good. Lots of muscle, flows very well, has some really deep muscle separation but still needs to be leaner, with that kind of separation, when he's shredded it'll look sick. Arms could use just a bit more size.
Andrew Hudson - posing to some Staind. Andrew reminds me of Dallas when he turned pro, HUGE frame, broad shoulders, tons of room to grow and tons of potential. You don't realize how big he is until you see him next to the other guys. Still needs to work on his conditioning but if he gets that down and adds some thickness he could do very well!
Johnnie Jackson - As Bob and I had discussed, Johnnie looks a little downsized. He's lean, not quite as lean as when he won in San Antonio Last year, but he looks to have lost some of that crazy fullness were used to seeing in his chest, arms, back and traps. As he gets a little older he has less room to be off and I think he's off here. Still looks good. We've just seen him better.
Ken Jackson - comes out to some Back To Sleep by Chris Brown. Great looking structure and aesthetics as always with a wide back and a small waist but his conditioning isn't quite where it needs to be. He's not the biggest guy so he rally needs to be dialed in to be a contender here. I think he's hitting a few more shows yet this year so hopefully he'll tighten up some moving forward. He usually gets better as the season goes on.
Rafael Jaramillo - comes out to a pretty powerful instrumental - his upper body is incredibly impressive, great muscle insertions, full, good detail, could be a little thicker in the legs though. If he could get his quads to come up, which he has been improving, he could move up in placings quite a bit. His conditioning is pretty damn good. He just has a really good look overall!
Michael Lockett - Jesus just jo there by himself he looks amazing. The way his huge delts tie into his arms is just insane! His back still needs some mass in his rear lat spread but it looks like it's coming up some. Very impressive showing!!!
Dallas McCarver - and he comes out to HERE I GO AGAIN! I mean how much better does it get! Watching Dallas up there you just know you're watching someone who could really be something special. As big of a frame as I think you'll ever see plus on a guy that's over 6 feet tall and you just have an incredibly imposing physique. He could use a little more width in his rear lat spread as some guys have said but that will
Come. His quads have come up a lot and are a strong point now. For as huge as he is, his waist has stayed pretty tight. Conditioning will need to be better to be in the first callout at the Olympia, but if he's diced he can do it!
Fred Smalls - I thought free got overlooked a little This morning. His side is there, he's leaner than he's been in a while, especially in his hams and upper back. It was a tough first callout but I might have had him in over Johnny. Anyhow, definitely a good showing for Fred. Having a blast on stage as always and the crowd is loving it!
Zdenek Voprada - good muscularity but in this lineup it's just not enough. His quads need to come up some still. That said, he has a good taper and nice back shots. His conditioning needs to be improved quite a bit, I don't think he's as sharp as he was when he got his pro card. With his size he needs to be razor sharp to get a good look from the judges.
Akim Williams - this is just a massive guy. His quads, chest, arms, back, everything is just insane. From the front his conditioning is pretty good, even his legs in the back aren't bad, but his upper back just looks a good 6-8 weeks behind everything else. Potential upon potential for Akim.
