Alsof je in een actiefilm het moet hebben van acteertalent, ik geloof niet dat Arnie aspiraties had om een stuk als Hamlet te spelen.
Qua actiefilms in de jaren 80, begin jaren 90 had hij zijn gelijke niet. Stallone moest het toch vooral van zijn Rambofilms hebben waar Schwarzenegger meedeed in Predator, Terminator, Conan, The Running Man, Total Recall en later nog True Lies. Twee van die films (True Lies en Terminator II) waren niet voor niks de duurste film aller tijden bij het uitkomen. Het visuele spektakel boven acteerprestaties, zoals het ook hoort bij een actiefilm.

een goed acteur voor bepaalde rollen dan, een sean connery als conan the barbarian was ook nooit gelukt, een stallone evenmin.

idd, als je hem afweegt tegen al die andere actiehelden was hij gewoon de sublieme topper.

In de VS wordt je als oude rot veel meer voor vol aangezien dan in de Nederlandse politiek.

+1, alleen dan niet zoals stallone te ver door gaat met rockey, een gastrol hier en daar zou mooi zijn.

Maar andersom hoor ik Arnold ook geen Adrian schreeuwen of een vodka-martini bestellen Lijkt me niet dat hij helemaal niks meer doet, zou tegen zijn 'Stay Hungry'-theorie in gaan. Total Rebuild II voor de O 2011 lijkt me ook wel wat "And when I wuz waving out the beeble of california, but the closer I came to 3 jan 2011, the more beeble started speculating on the idea that I would be competing, andehhm, the more I started thinking about the possibility and so around 4 or 5 jan 2011, I decided: 'well I think it would be kind of an interesting challenge really, to do something in 8 months at the age of 63 without the STH and Insulin that most of the guys do.. of..in preparing a year or 2 years in advance."

Though two of the potential projects remain a mystery, one such script is apparently Schwarzenegger revealed a dramatic adventure called With Wings as Eagles from Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace.
Apparently the script comes from the story about a German officer who disagrees with the Nazi party and helps American prisoners of war escape safely. Sounds like an old school action flick, and that's probably where Schwarzenegger fits best. However, the action game has changed slightly, and I'm not sure the brute strength of the action films from his heyday are going to be popular today. Though The Expendables got some people excited, it failed to be all that impressive. I'm happy to give Schwarzenegger a chance to get his Hollywood career back, but I'm hoping that he considers some comedies along with his usual action fare. How about you?
