Het zou hem met zijn depressie en angst klachten hebben geholpen. Zijn dochter zou dat vooral van soja krijgen en ik kan daar eea wel uit herkennen (tenminste vanuit kruisallergie) dus vind het niet gek dat hij het daarom geprobeerd heeft en er verschillen mee merkt. Het is basically een elimination diet tot z'n uiterste uitgevoerd, dus mocht er iets in planten zitten dat het niet met je eens is dan ben je daar snel van af.
Volgens mij kun je met vlees en enkele orgaantjes vrij simpel alles binnen krijgen.

Wat vind je er zelf van?
Het stuk waar JP een uitleg van god geeft komt trouwens sterk in de buurt (evolutionair gevolg van) van de fundamentele waarden die Iain McGilchrist in dit laatste gesprek hierboven beschrijft. JP was ook al een enorm fan van zijn eerdere boek. Ik denk dat het een misrepresentatie is dat JP op die manier vanuit dat pragmatisme fundamentele waarden wil creeëren, het zijn volgens mij ook in zijn visie a-priori gegevens. Fundamentele krachten in het universum. Jung's (en ouder alchemisch) denken past daar ook goed bij, en trekt ook weer naar het geloof in een christelijke god. JP zegt weinig nieuws/origineels maar wijst op een goedgesproken manier naar grote ideeën van voor onze tijd. Het pragmatisme gebruikt hij om aan te tonen dat je nou eenmaal naar die waardes bent gevormd en functioneert, al sprekend uit de aanname dat ze bestaan. Welke Sam Harris om objectief te willen blijven niet lijkt te durven erkennen. Misschien dat McGilchrist's werk het filosofisch beter onderbouwt dan JP kan, misschien het lezen waard.
Postmodernisme gaat volgens hem uit van de a-priori aannames dat die fundamentele waardes niet bestaan. Wetenschap en moderniteit laten geen ruimte voor zulke subjectiviteit. Echter omdat ze toch in een realiteit met fundamentele waardes opereren komen ze tot destructieve resultaten. Dat is niet bewust(?) hun doel, of dat schrijven ze niet te willen, maar is wel het gevolg van opereren in de realiteit middels onwetendheid of haat jegens de fundamentele waardes. Dat laatste is zeker te zien in het schrijven van Marx buiten Das Kapitaal, wat uit zeer satanistische poëzie bestond. Ironisch dat zo iemand richting een utopie dacht te spreken. En velen na hem denken met wetenschap naar een ideaal te streven.
Daar waarschuwde Nietzsche juist voor, hij herkende dat de tijd van postmodernisme was gekomen maar sprak zich er in al z'n werk fundamenteel tegen uit. Jung en Alchemisch denken zien de opkomst van puur objectieve utilitaire moderne wetenschap zelfs als wat we de antichrist noemen, tegenstelling van de fundamentele waardes. JP wijzende naar Nietzsche en Jung lijkt me zo prima consistent. Misschien is dat niet genoeg voor het alt-right denken wat eigenlijk een strongman zoekt om hun problemen in de maatschappij voor ze op te lossen, maar het is ook niet zijn wens om daar iets mee te maken te hebben. JP moest dat eerder van zich afschudden, is nu bezig met het zoeken naar een nieuwe structuur waarmee mensen in lijn met die fundamentele waardes een toekomst kunnen scheppen die wel functioneel is.
ps. Persoonlijk zie ik daar nog wel knelpunten omdat de maatschappij en z'n rechterlijke macht al zo ver is verwrongen om postmoderne antiwaardes op te dringen dat je als je de fundamentele waardes echt serieus neemt wel meer rebels zou moeten zijn dan een beetje creatief doen op Youtube. Uiteindelijk om biologische existentiële noodzaak. Maar ik weet niet wat daarin wijsheid is, of misschien maakt daarover treuzelen ons al als die Letzter Mensch.
