Rubin: Amala Ekpunobi & Elijah Schaffer (16 apr. 2021)

Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report talks to Amala Ekpunobi, and Elijah Schaffer about the potential for bigger Black Lives Matter riots this summer. The trial of Derek Chauvin over the death of George Floyd is approaching its end, and BLM protests are beginning to take the stage again. Meanwhile the police shooting of Daunte Wright is fueling new calls to defund the police. Black Lives Matter and the mainstream media keep pushing the narrative that police violence is rampant and systemic racism is causing these police shootings. They continue to ignore the true devastation caused by BLM protesters last summer. It seems inevitable that a new wave of BLM riots is about to begin. Can it be stopped?

CIS: Claire Lehmann (12 apr. 2021)

Many cultural forces continue to weed out books, tear down statues and shame celebrities, who buck fashionable opinion. As a result, the cultural putsch in many western institutions strikes at liberal values. We are told these purges are necessary to “prevent harm.” In any case, society has “moved on” from the past.

But is cancel culture simply about fending off “harm”? Is it just about redressing past western sins? Or is what the critics say is a ferocious campaign of political conformity threatening the fabric of our liberal public discourse and civil society? Is it a proxy war on the Western liberal democratic tradition? Is anyone or anything safe from cancellation?

CIS presents a discussion with Claire Lehmann and Peter Kurti, hosted by CIS’s Monica Wilkie. Claire Lehmann, founding editor of online magazine Quillette, has been a vocal opponent of cancel culture. She has recently released a collection of essays, Panics and Persecutions: 20 Quillette Tales of Excommunication in the Digital Age.

Peter Kurti , author of Cancelled! How ideological cleansing threatens Australia. He is director of the Culture, Prosperity and Civil Society program at the Centre for Independent Studies. Monica Wilkie, policy analyst at CIS, author of Respect & Division; How Australians View Religion and recently, Australian's Attitudes to Social Media; Connection or Curse?

Claire is m'n schatje. :)

Elder: 'Kingmaker' Al Sharpton (feb. 2021)

Among those calling for former President Donald Trump's conviction for the impeachment charge of incitement to insurrection is none other than the Rev. Al "No Justice, No Peace" Sharpton. No joke. Now, the reverend doesn't have the most credible voice when speaking about justice or peace. On the contrary, his past activism reveals otherwise. Larry revisits Rev. Sharpton's list of lies in this episode, from the Tawana Brawley scandal to 5 million debt in taxes. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, Larry presents the Rev. Al Sharpton: "Democratic Kingmaker."

Shapiro: Jordan Peterson (2 mei 2021)

Jordan returns to the show to discuss his newest book, “Beyond Order: 12 More Rules For Life”. In 2016, this book’s prequel, “12 Rules For Life: An Antidote to Chaos” along with a slew of viral YouTube videos, transformed Jordan into a pop culture luminary. As Peterson continues to influence so many people, he has become a primary target of the Left. Most recently, Leftists painted Jordan as a murderous nazi in Marvel comics.
