That's the problem, the precedent started by that POS Bradley Manning got people thinking they could enlist to fund a sex change operation.

I served eight years in the Army, and fought two tours in Iraq... I wouldn't want to fight alongside someone who can't have their head on straight from the get go. I've seen what happens when you have a soldier in a weak mental state in a combat zone. It translates to poor performance, period.

I have nothing against trans people themselves, although I disagree with how we go about helping them in our society. I just think the political correctness isn't doing the military any favors. The military takes your rights to enable your survival... That's all there is to it. You should not have the right to be balls deep in a transexual struggle and expect to have other service members' lives in your hands at the same time.

ik vind vrouwen in het leger wanneer er genoeg geschikte mannen zijn sowieso geen goed idee maar als er momenteel net zo goed vrouwen in het leger mogen zie ik niet in waarom transgenders dat niet mogen (als daar verder dus geen extra kosten aan verbonden zijn die niet bestaan bij een niet-transgender persoon natuurlijk)

Transgenders zijn vaker labiel, plegen vaker zelfmoord- om maar iets te noemen. Het imago is ook een niet te onderschatten punt met betrekkng tot moraal. Niets tegen transgenders, maar het leger is geen sociaal experiment.
