Iceman Kuusamo Lapland 2011
Friday 18.3. - Saturday 19.3.
The second arctic strongman competition challenges 13 of the strongest men of the world to battle for the title of Iceman.
The competition will be brutal in the exotic and testing environment. There is no weather clause or frost limit. Competition is organized by the Strongman Champions League.
The two-day competition will be held in the surroundings of Ruka Fell. Eight events will be completed in unique settings (Chalet Ruka Peak, Rukan Salonki, Sokos Hotel Kuusamo and Ruka 911 location, which integrate the history and culture of the area with unique snow and ice constructions, in the magnificent wilderness which the region is famous for.
Events 2011:
On Friday 18.3.2011 Rukan Salonki:
1) Frame Carry at noon Sponsored by: Meriser Oy/Merika
Competitor carries a load of 250-300 kg as soon as possible to finish line in 30 meters.
2) Conan Circle at 1 pm Sponsored by: Veho/Mercedes-Benz
Athlete will pick the pole up (250 kg) and will walk as long as he can hold the pole in his arms.
3) Loading at 2 pm Sponsored by: Ruka 911.
On Saturday 19.3.2011 at Chalet Ruka Peak:
4) Human Ski Lift at noon Sponsored by: Kuusamon Uistin/Finngrip
The athlete will pull uphill arm over arm total of six girls who are hooked to the rope with ski anchors and has cross country skis on their feet.
5) Log lift at 1 pm Sponsored by: Coca Cola Zero
6) Dead lift for reps at 2 pm Sponsored by: Ruka 11.
On Saturday 19.3.2011 at Sokos Hotel Kuusamo:
7) Truck pulling at 6 pm Sponsored by: Volvo
8) Log House Carry at 7 pm Sponsored by: Koillismaan Osuuskauppa and Kuusamo Hirsitalot Oy
Truck pull with harness and rope.
