Rocky Stallone on-set KO
Thursday, 22 Dec 2005

Hollywood hardman Sylvester Stallone has been knocked out while filming a scene for the latest instalment of the long-running Rocky franchise.
Sly could be forgiven for not going at it full pelt in his sixth boxing movie given that he's reached the ripe old age of 59, but the actor and director was not holding back while filming.
Unfortunately the 59-year-old star ended up unconscious on his back, after receiving a particularly vicious blow to the head while playing the part of Rocky Balboa.
Stallone was knocked out in a Las Vegas boxing ring on the set of his new movie, but the film crew left the cameras rolling because, in a Tommy Cooper-esque moment, they thought he was acting.
Only after several minutes of awkward 'why isn't he acting?' silence – something that some cynical critics might have levelled at much of his career - the crew realised he was hurt and came to his aid.
Fortunately red faces were saved after Stallone made a full recovery, and filming has resumed.
Rocky VI stars real-life IBO light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver and Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Rocky's son.
The movie is due to be released in 2007.

Los Angeles - California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger visited Sylvester Stallone on the set of the sixth Rocky being filmed outside Los Angeles, according to the governor's press office.
Schwarzenegger gave Stallone a "certificate of recognition" for filming in California, as other producers look to film in other US states or overseas locales to cut costs.
The governor and former action hero is trying to keep the film industry in its traditional home, around Hollywood. He recently visited his partner in the film Twins, Danny DeVito, under similar circumstances.
Schwarzenegger and Stallone were action stars of the 1980s and 1990s, but never worked together.
Schwarzenegger, 58, launched a political career. Stallone, 59, stuck with his original franchise; after wrapping up the sixth Rocky, he plans a fourth Rambo.
