Optie 1

Capturing Video from VCR to PC using Windows Movie Maker

1. Double-click the “Windows Movie Maker” icon on the desktop.
2. In the left-hand pane, make sure that “1. Capture Video” is expanded to show all
the options.
3. Click “Capture from video device.”
4. Make sure that “Audio Device” is set to “Osprey-200 Audio.”
5. Make sure that “Audio Input Device” is set to “Unbalanced.”
6. Adjust the input level slider for audio to around halfway up the bar. The blue line
shouldn’t consistently go higher than about two-thirds up the bar.
(The next 3 steps should only need to be done the first time you do a capture. But if
you ever encounter a situation where you have no video, repeat them.)
7. Click “Configure” on right-hand side of box
8. Click on “Video source.”
9. Where it says “Input” (right side) click SVIDEO.
10. Click “OK” twice (once in each open window).
11. Click Next.
12. In the Captured Video dialog box, enter a name for the video clip and choose a
directory to save it in. I suggest you use the “My Videos” folder of your own
documents folder. This should be the default.
13. Click Next.
14. In the Video Setting dialog box, make sure that “Best Quality for playback on My
Computer” is selected.
15. Click Next.
16. You will see a preview of what is playing on the VCR on the right. (Note that as
audio does not preview through the computer speakers, but instead through the
separate speaker on top of the VCR.)
17. Click “Start Capture” to begin capturing video.
18. Click “Stop Capture” to stop the capture.
19. Click “Finish.”
20. You can then play your finished clip in the window. This clip can also be placed
directly into Powerpoint presentations.
