I don't count too much grams of carbs I just try to keep fat to a minimum get a bit of protein per meal, and make sure my carbs are generally of a starchy nature. I do eat lots of green veggies and some fruits also on the weekends.
Typical meals for me:
Whole grain cereal with low fat milk, egg whites.
Whole grain wrap with beans, chicken breast, salsa, brown rice (other veggies)
Whole wheat pasta with tomatoes, onions, zucchini, low fat chicken sausage. Fruit like strawberries or apple.
Oatmeal pancakes with sugar free syrup and blueberries.
Cottage cheese,
whole grain salad (like wheat berries, quinoa, kamut)with cucumbers and apricots (whatever veggies fruits I have)
Turkey Chili with brown rice and various beans.
Wrap with turkey, lettuce, tomato etc. sweet potato fries
*Air popped popcorn with buffalo chicken strips (baked chicken tenderloins tossed in Franks hot sauce, no butter or dipping sauce)
Other:
Sweet potatoes/yams
Any whole grain, oats etc.
Whole grain pasta
Higher carb veggies like pumpkin, squash, onions etc.
Beans....
That's all I can think of right now..
I try to stay away from the sugar because I have PCOS. But, I'm not sure but, I think it's best to avoid sugar for the first few months. I may be wrong there.
