Westside Barbell
The 2011 Powerstation Pro/Am meet was a great success.
As usual, Mike Ferguson and his wife Marcia put on the premier power meet of the year.
The venue was magnificent with a great warm-up facility and top elite catering food.
The S.P.F. was the sanctioning body with the President Jesse Rodgers, sitting in the head judge chair.
The side judges were Joe Ladnier and Wade Johnson who did a splendid job on both days.
There was tremendous competition on the Pro day.
Standing with Amy Weisberger returning to gear and setting the raw records.
Hitting 1305 with a body weight of 148-pounds, now the magic starts. Laura Phelps at 165-pounds made world records with a 745-pound squat, 530-pound bench press, and a total of 1800-pounds smashing her own record but more importantly totaling 11 times bodyweight.
It’s Westside’s honor to have these two women as our lifting family.
Mike Cartinian, with a body weight of 181-pounds also made history by posting the lightest 2300-pound total out of Big Iron Gym.
This was just the start of big things to come.
Uha of Finland broke the 242-pound world record total with 2640 at 242 bodyweight;
Dave “Neutron” Hoff made 1165-pound squat, 945-pound bench press, 800-pound deadlift to total an amazing 2910.
What’s more?
He has lots left.
Brian Carroll broke the 275-pound squat record with a deep 1185-total. Congratulations Brian.
What about the 308’s?
Jake Anderson was after A.J. Roberts total record but after a 1130-pound squat, a turned down 835-pound bench press, left him with only a 785 and an 845-pound deadlift to total 2755.
A.J. made a strong 1130 squat after a shaky start.
A strong 905-pound bench press and a second 795-pound deadlift to break the 308-pound world record at 2830. Donny Thomas made the impossible, possible at the Pro/Am.
A world record squat of 1265, a personal best of 950-pound bench press, and a 785-pound deadlift to total 3,000.
Two ladies of Westside made the new SPF pro total were Jean Fry who hit a 1025 at 123-pound bodyweight and Molly Edwards was strong at 198-pounds totaling 1375. The squat bar used at the Pro/Am was Westside’s Freak Squat Bar, a 65-pound monster.
It will sell for $750+S&H.
Westside’s certificate will be accredited by just about every organization for training.
This is a scientific course for coaching any sport by applying science and sports excellence.
Also Westside now has the greatest hamstring developer on the market. It is patented and has a sister device for the hips and quads that is just as effective.
